The Acadia series explores the expressiveness of trees—their roots, trunks, branches seeming to reach, touch, and gesture.
The seven prints contrast the nuanced continuous tone of photopolymer photogravure intaglio with the simplicity and flatness of screenprinting, expanding the frame from the defined edges of the platemark to reveal what might be beyond. The unique visual characteristics of the two printing processes capture different qualities of the subject, enriching our perception.
